Camps
Our camps are a perfect choice for students who love music! We offer full-day and half-day summer camps, spring camps, and winter camps for kids, plus camps on school holidays. Our camps are great for students who want to start learning music and see what it’s like to perform!
Parties
Birthday parties at the Fine Tune Academy give kids a chance to be rock stars for a day! With themes like Karaoke Birthday and Rock Birthday, partygoers get to perform and record songs by their favorite artists. We also offer birthday party packages for younger children and corporate teams!
Karaoke Birthday Party
The Fine Tune Academy Karaoke Birthday Parties give everyone the chance to show off their vocal talents!
This party experience starts by having the birthday guest of honor choose which song they want to sing. Our party songlist includes over 100 hits, from modern pop and hip-hop tracks to classic rock songs.
Guests then work with a Fine Tune Academy vocal instructor to practice the song. Our vocal instructor will guide guests through each part of the song and will offer tips on proper singing and breathing techniques. Guests will then practice the song as a group to prepare for their recording.
After practicing, guests will record their song in a professional recording studio! The group will work with a Fine Tune Academy audio engineer, using state of the art microphones and audio mixing to record their track — just like the pros!
Our karaoke parties include the use of a Fine Tune Academy party room, giving time for refreshments, food, and gifts. Each party lasts 90 minutes, and guests receive a Fine Tune Academy Party Pack at the end of the event!

As a musician, there’s nothing like playing as part of a band! At the Fine Tune Academy, we strongly encourage student musicians to perform with other artists. In our band program, students can practice with peers of the same skill level, receive coaching from experienced musicians, and perform on-stage at Fine Tune Academy events!
By combining private lessons with band sessions, our students can build their skills more quickly. One-on-one lessons are perfect for learning musical theory and playing technique. Meanwhile, band practice gives students the chance to harness these skills, learn concepts like harmony and counterpoint, and perform in a group.
Our band program allows kids to get creative, socialize and build confidence on stage. They learn valuable skills in teamwork, leadership and communication. Class duration ranges from 30 to 60 minutes.
Rock the Stage in a Fine Tune Academy Band!
At the Fine Tune Academy, we encourage all of our students to combine private lessons with our band program.
Each student is placed in a band with peers of a similar age and skill level. When signing up, two or more students can request to be part of the same band, giving friends the chance to play together. We also allow existing bands to sign up as a group and get coaching from pro musicians!
In the band program, students attend weekly jam sessions and practice songs together. Each band is encouraged to choose which songs and genres they want to play. We also encourage bands to write their own songs and perform original music!
All of our bands get the chance to perform at Fine Tune Academy events, like Battle of the Bands and Bachapalooza. This way, bands gain on-stage experience in front of live audiences and learn what it’s like to play local music venues. Winners at Battle of the Bands also earn a place on the Fine Tune Academy Wall of Fame!
Guitar Lessons in Encinitas
With guitar lessons at the Fine Tune Academy, you can learn the guitar — electric or acoustic — while playing the songs you love!
Students work their way up from guitar basics, through technique and theory, to performing with peers. Along the way, students learn music theory and new techniques for fretwork, strumming patterns, and more! Lessons are available for both acoustic and electric guitar, so that students can choose which type of guitar they want to play.

Our Guitar Lessons & Classes

Every great musician depends on the talents of audio engineers and music producers. In Recording Arts Camp, you’ll discover how audio equipment and software can transform your tracks into chart-topping hits!
Music recording camps take place in Fine Tune Academy’s recording studios. Students get to work with industry-standard microphones, soundboards, and mixing equipment, as well as state-of-the-art software.
Over the course of the camp, you’ll work directly with a Fine Tune Academy audio engineer as they record music from live bands and solo artists. Students learn the ins-and-outs of microphone placement, studio equipment, and how to capture high-fidelity sound. Our engineers also teach students how to achieve different audio effects and capture specific sounds in-studio.
After recording live tracks, students will get a hands-on look at how songs are mixed and produced. Students get to mix songs using Pro Tools, one of the industry’s most popular software suites.
Beginner Ukulele Lessons in Encinitas
Ukulele 101 is a beginner-friendly class for first-time ukulele players! These beginner ukulele lessons make learning to play the ukulele easy and fun for students of all ages. Over 10 weekly lessons, students learn the basics of this fun and personality-filled instrument! Class duration is 45 minutes.
At the Fine Tune Academy, all of our 101 classes are taught by experienced musicians. Our small class sizes give students plenty of one-on-one instruction. At the same time, students can learn the basics of playing the ukulele while having fun with their peers.
Our beginner ukulele lessons are open to ages 7+, with the option of in-person or online learning. We welcome students who are learning to play for the first time, as well as experienced ukulele players who want to expand their skill set!
After Ukulele 101, students can graduate to private ukulele lessons at the Fine Tune Academy. This way, ukulele students can learn the basics in our beginner lessons, then build on these skills through private instruction!
Ukulele Lessons for Beginners
In Ukulele 101, anyone can learn to play the ukulele. Building up from basic concepts and techniques, we offer an easy, step-by-step approach for beginner students.
Early lessons teach new students how to hold and tune their instrument. Students learn how to strum and control tone through fretwork, plus how to play basic chords. Advanced students can skip ahead to different strum techniques and backbeat grooves, depending on their skill level.
As students progress, they get to learn popular songs. By the end of our beginner ukulele lessons, each student will know at least two songs, and will get a chance to perform on stage. Our classes also include lessons on musical theory and note reading, giving students a strong musical foundation.
Our group classes make learning to play the ukulele more fun for students. By learning with peers of the same age and skill level, students can have fun, support one another, and gain confidence!

Fine Tune Academy Battle of the Bands
Battle of the Bands is an annual event headlined by Fine Tune Academy bands! Student bands get the chance to perform in real music venues in front of a live audience. It’s a perfect chance for students to build confidence on stage and discover what it takes to be a rock star!
The Fine Tune Academy encourages all student bands to compete in the Battle of the Bands. We divide bands into three divisions — Elementary School, Middle School, and High School — so that students get to compete in their own age bracket.
During the event, each band will get to perform a set of two songs in front of a live audience. Students can play a cover of one of their favorite songs, or they can perform an original song by their band!
Our judges award points to each band based on musicianship, ensemble precision, and stage presence! Extra points are awarded to bands that perform original music, and we encourage each band to play one cover and one original song.
At the end of the event, our judges tally the points and award one winner and two runners-up for each division. Winners not only get bragging rights — they also get to record a demo in our state-of-the-art recording studio!
